Everyone is crammed into the same two auctions, TikTok and Meta, bidding each other's CPMs into the sky. Meanwhile there is a channel most Shopify stores never even switch on, and it sends the warmest traffic I have ever paid for. It is called Shop Channel Ads, and it quietly outperforms.
What it actually is
Shop Channel Ads promote your products inside Shopify's Shop app, to people who are already in shopping mode with their payment details saved. That is the whole edge. On TikTok and Meta you interrupt someone watching entertainment and try to convert them cold. On the Shop app, you are showing a product to someone who opened an app specifically to buy things. Warm, wallet-out traffic.
My real numbers
2.15x ROAS at just $25 a day. $451 spent turned into $969 in sales. No creatives, no drama. Just buyers walking through a door that was already open.
Read that again: no creatives. On Meta and TikTok I test a hundred hooks to find one winner. Shop ads need none of that, because I am not stopping a scroll, I am putting a product in front of a ready buyer. The effort-to-return ratio is unlike anything on paid social.
Why it works
Intent. TikTok and Meta are top-of-funnel: you create the demand. The Shop app is bottom-of-funnel: the demand is already there, you just need to be the answer. That is why the ROAS holds at a low budget with no creative testing. You are not convincing anyone to want something, you are catching people who already do.
How to run it
- Set it, forget it, fulfill it. Turn it on at a small daily budget, let the intent do the work, and check the ROAS instead of babysitting creatives.
- Treat it as a layer, not a replacement. Your cold-traffic engine still lives on TikTok, that is what builds the brand and feeds the top of the funnel. Shop ads harvest the warm demand that engine creates.
- Make sure the product qualifies first. Warm traffic still will not save a bad offer. Run the product through the 7 filters before you point any spend at it.
It will not do your whole volume. But a channel that returns 2.15x at $25 a day with zero creative work is free money most stores leave on the table. If you are on Shopify and not running Shop ads, you are one toggle away from a profit layer.
